KATHLEEN ROARTY – OWNER/FOUNDER & DESIGNER
Kathleen is the co-founder and designer of Mint Pillows, an artist, interior designer and color specialist with more than 25 years experience in residential design. She is a current member and founding Vice President of The North American chapter of The International Association of Color Consultants. She holds a master’s degree in Environmental Psychology with a B.A. in Environmental Design and was a professor of Environmental Psychology for 13 years.
In addition to leading product development for Mint Pillows, Kathleen is a Reiki master who loves being mother, grandmother and aunt to the Roarty clan – and counts her family life as driving her passion for functionality and aesthetics.
Kathleen’s favorite travel destinations include: Ubud in Bali, Isola di Salina in the Aeolian Islands off of Italy and the Central Highlands of Mexico.
ALISH ROARTY – CO-OWNER & OPERATIONS GURU
Alish is the co-founder and business developer for Mint Pillows, with more than 10 years experience as a corporate mediator and management consultant. She holds an M.A. from Columbia University in Organizational Psychology with an emphasis in Conflict Resolution and has traveled the world for business and pleasure. She has called San Diego, San Francisco, Spain, New York and Oahu’s North Shore home at different points in her career.
Now, helping manage the family business (Mint Pillows) and her other family business (new son Kailani) are her priorities. Alish is a surfer whose passion for the sea, for family, music, art and nature enrich her daily life.
Alish’s favorite travel destinations include: Marrakech in Morocco, Andalucia in Spain and the Bay Area in California.
Ian O’Roarty- Director of Photography
Ian is an accomplished photographer, cinematographer and lighting director with more than 15 years professional experience. He studied at the prestigious Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara and graduated with a B.A. in Photography.
As the Director of Photography for Mint Pillows, he is responsible for all product and company imagery – and occasionally, even contributes to product design: He is the artist whose work is displayed on our popular Tokyo Series.
Ian is passionate about his work, traveling the world for surf spots, and spending time with his girls – lovely wife Abi and daughter Ginger Rain. (All currently on tour through Hawaii, Australia and Bali.)
When not occupied with any of those loves, you’ll find Ian in his design studio. His most recent work? The mid-century modern-influenced O Light.
